Biografia

Gianmarco Moneti (1996) is an Italian pianist based in The Hague. His work combines classical performance with a strong interest in teaching, contemporary projects, and the creation of original concert formats that connect music with theatre and storytelling.

In 2025–2026, he will tour across the Netherlands as a finalist of Dutch Classical Talent, presenting his artistic vision to audiences nationwide. His recent research, Musical Psicho Performance (Royal Conservatory of The Hague, 2024), reflects his interest in the psychological and creative aspects of performance.

In duo with pianist Alessandro Di Gennaro, he performed in the Meredith Monk retrospective organized by Oude Kerk Amsterdam and the Hartwig Foundation, playing all of the composer’s Piano Songs and working directly with Meridith Monk and her team.

Moneti has performed widely in Italy, the Netherlands, and internationally, with appearances at the Festiva Andriessen,  Unione Musicale in Turin, the Balletto del Teatro di Torino, Oude Kerk Amsterdam, Radio West, and the Festival Metamorfosi by Piemonte dal Vivo, Radio West, Bachdag Amersfort, Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag, Fondazione Lingotto Musica, De Sono Associazione per La Musica , Musica d’Estate in Bardonecchia, Goethe Institut Turin, Circolo Artistico in Arezzo, Chiesa di Santa Pelagia in Turin, Oratorio Santa Cecilia in Bologna, Concessionaria Steinway & Sons in Firenze, Amici Della Musica in Arezzo, Musica negli Horti in San Quirico D’Orcia, Festival Polifonico Guido D’Arezzo, Liberty Festival in Gardone Riviera, Giovani in Musica in Bologna, Dolcedo Festival, Festival dell’Espressionismo in Turin, Reggia di Venaria, Amici Della Lirica d’Imperia.

His projects often explore the intersection between tradition and innovation: in 2017 he founded the Echi Festival, dedicated to contemporary music, commissioning new works and writing scripts that integrated music and theatre. He has also appeared on Italian national television (Nessun Dorma, RAI), performing Beethoven’s Sonata op. 101.

He studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatoire in Turin, where he graduated with highest honors in Piano Performance and Chamber Music, under the guidance of Laura Richaud and Antonio Valentino. He later completed a Master’s degree in Classical Piano at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with David Kuyken. He also refined his artistry at the Accademia di Musica in Pinerolo with Enrico Pace and Giovanni Doria Miglietta, and through masterclasses with Michel Béroff, Joaquin Achúcarro, Franck Braley, Roberto Plano, and Alexei Lubimov.

He is also a recipient of a scholarship from the De Sono Associazione per la Musica, supporting his artistic development and research.

Alongside his performing career, Moneti is an experienced teacher, having worked at several music schools in Italy, and privately both in Turin and The Hague.
